Notes on Games and Versions
My only copy of this games is the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition Promotional Disc which includes The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, Ocarina of Time, and Major's Mask. I played on the Game Cube. This was my first time playing this game in earnest. I've played a few minutes here and there in the past, but never tried to beat it until now.
Starting off my goal was not not use a walkthrough, but I ended up using a world map to help me navigate around and once or twice I had to look up how to do things. Overall I felt the playthru was a success. I did not play hard-mode, though I can always go back and try it later. I'll likely count those stats separately.
Haven't played yet. Coming soon?
I played this game on Switch. My understanding is that this version has a few differences from the original, which makes me think I may need to find and play that as well, but overall this was a hugely fun game.
Most the game was really easy, but there were a few sections which tripped me up. I only had to lookup a walkthrough at one point, and that was figuring out how to damage the boss at the ancient shrine. I tried everything I could think of, several times, before giving up. Finally I caved and realized there was one dumb thing that I thought I had tried, but hadn't. It was pretty easy after that.
Currently playing. Not impressed.
This was one of the first games we got on the SNES and it's one of my favorite Zelda games. I played it through a number of times in my teenage years.
There was a lot that I had forgotten in the 15 or so years since I played last but I was surprised at how much I remembered and how much came back to me. I did so much better in this game, it took my viewers by surprise.
I decided to play this on the Collector's Edition Disc. I beat the game several times on the N64 when it came out. It's been over a decade since I've played OoT and there is a lot that I have forgotten about it. I had to look up walkthroughs at several points when I couldn't remember anything. In some ways I felt like I was rushing my way through the game. This wasn't a speed run, not by any means, but the exploration of the world, hunting for skultulas, trading for the Big Goron Sword, of collecting all the hearts isn't interesting to me right now.
Of course, I always reserve the right to come back and do that later.

This is the game that made this project a reality. I wanted to play this game very badly, but I was saving up to buy a Switch. While I waited I had the idea to play thru all the other Zelda games.
I really enjoyed this game. I honestly expected to explore more but the storyline and the quests pulled me in and instead of just randomly wandering about, I found myself on various missions heading towards my goal.
I do not have footage of most of my playthru. This was a conscious choice, and I'm sorry if you disagree with it. I'll fully admit, I selfishly wanted to experience the world myself and didn't always feel like setting up a recording.
