I've always enjoyed the idea behind my Game Name Generator and after 10 years I knew it was time for an update. I rewrote the entire codebase (it's not really that impressive) and created a better system for templates. The new system is built on templates, which allows me to better parody actual game titles, while still offering the ability to roll my own.
For months I've been manually asking GPT-3 to come up with plot descriptions for the fake games I've generated. Version 3 now automates that process, allowing anyone to do it with just the push of a button. (Due to the costs involved, I have this feature limited for the time being.)
After I had an AI generating plot summaries, it wasn't much more work to have it also generate artwork for the fake game. So this is another feature of Version 3.0. (This feature is also limited. It costs between $0.02-0.03 to generate an image, which isn't terribly expensive, but it can add up quickly if you're not paying attention.)
I'll likely still come back and tweak the new site from time to time, but it's a significant upgrade over the original one and I'm pretty proud of how it all came together.
