I now have a spiky blue shell, a red shell, a green shell, two young/sick metroids, a normal metroid, a purple metroid, a blue metroid, and a red metroid.
The colored metroids are meant to be from Metroid Prime, when you have the elemental metroids. The blue one is possibly frozen.
Yes, I do throw the shells at my friends when we are playing mario kart, and sometimes even when we are not.
