The Fictitious Trip Journal of Aaron Mitchell - Day 1

March 7th, 2013

I was super excited to get up this morning. I had forgotten we were leaving early and as such I didn’t pack anything the night before. After my Mom woke me up, I threw a bunch of clothes into a garbage bag and I hope they’ll allow that for carry-on luggage because when I tried to get my normal luggage bag I accidentally tore the zipper off after I discovered a mouse nest inside. Needless to say I didn’t want to take Ratatouille and family back to Europe… I’ll write more when I get on the plane.

Note to self: Pack earlier next time. The good news is that I am on the plane, despite a little mishap with the garbage bag. A TSA officer tried to throw it out on me, but I managed to snag it from the dumpster and everything was still intact. They wouldn’t let me through security with it though, so I had to cram my stuff into everyone else’s bags. Fortunately, I didn’t have much stuff packed so it was easy to make it all fit, but I don’t think everyone is very happy with me at the moment.

Also, the pen in my pocket appears to have exploded, and while I’m not a huge fan of the large ink blot on my shirt, I’ve been able to play rorschach test for a few hours with it, so at least it’s good for entertainment. This flight is a lot longer than I expected. I know they said it was like 14 hours but I though they were probably joking… and I have no idea how long 14 hours really is, especially since I left my watch on my night stand in my rush to get out the door. A shop at the airport had a Hand Crank iPhone Charger, which is super handy since I have nothing else to do but keep my phone at 100% battery life. It makes a fair amount of noise, but since I’m listening to music on my headphones it doesn’t bother me at all.

I’ll write more when we land. Or if I get bored later.
