I threw the computer across the room, the screen cracked at the hinge as it bent backwards further then it was suppose to. I picked up my gun and shot the stupid thing three times. “That aught to teach it.” I said out loud. My roommate rushed into the room. “What’s going on?” he demanded, I put my gun down as he realized in horror that his computer was broken on the floor with three bullets lodged inside the casing. “You!… you… I can’t believe you!” he screamed at me. I paid no attention to the rest of his tantrum. It was always the same, “You don’t respect my stuff, this is my room too, what if I did this to you?” he never really understood. If he just took two seconds to understand my perspective, he would be a lot better off. I’m not a deep person, in fact, I’m really shallow. If I don’t like something, I shoot it. That’s about all you need to know, if you want to know me. It’s really that simple.

My roommate didn’t understand. He kept giving me stuff, and it kept not working. I kept shooting, and my roommate kept getting angry. Get a clue man, stop giving me your stuff. He was done talking now, and had left in a huff. He would return a few hours later, consoled by some group of unseen friends. I presume they existed, and i highly doubted the were of an alcoholic nature, but the seemed to be good at their job.

True to form he came back a few hours later, although his timing was awful, because I was putting a few more slugs into his bed with a 22. I put it away when he came in, but he knew what I had been up to. He always seemed to know, but he never did anything about it. I don’t think he was scared of me, I think he just didn’t know what to do to me.

Those were the fun days, the days when things didn’t matter, the days before I actually had to do things that needed to be done. And although my roommate doesn’t know it, he did help me discover the best way to actually do what I needed to get done.
