Well, when Photoshop won't open, the first thing that comes to mind is a bad or corrupt preference file. But it's hard to be sure.

As for the ICC profile, it sounds like a strange problem. Would it have anything to do with the Printer rather then Photoshop? I assume though, that you an print from other applications.

I'm sorry, I don't think I'm going to be able to be much help on this one. Let me know if you find a fix though.

Hi again Philip,
I should mention that I am working on a Mac PowerBook G4 (WallStreeter) and using (or trying to) Photoshop CS.
The 5.5 I mention is also Photoshop.
All the best,
Roy

My Photoshop problem is not the same as yours, so I can't help.
I have been getting a dialog box when attempting to load that reads "The application Photoshop quit unexpectedly.
Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.
Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple." ...and then the Close, Report, and Reopen buttons.
No amount of reloading of the program helps.
I have fallen back to my 5.5, but that won't print now, claiming; "Could not complete the print command because the ICC profile is no longer installed." ...and the OK button.
I have downloaded an ICC profile from the internet, but still no luck printing.
I recognize that you have your own problems, but seem to be way ahead of me on the user curve, and perhaps you could provide a hint, a source, or a fix.
All the best,
Roy
